Dr. Shaista Khan, a distinguished Member of the National Assembly (MNA) representing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Province visited UET, Taxila on 03/05/2024. During her visit, Dr. Shaista Khan engaged in a productive discussion with Prof. Dr. Qaiser uz Zaman Khan, Vice Chancellor focusing on the pivotal role of women in education and society.

During the meeting Dr. Shaista Khan pointed out that as the UET, Taxila is at the border line of KPK hence reciprocal quota for KPK students may be enhanced enabling KPK students to get benefit of top ranked university. Vice Chancellor told that proposal will be placed in the relevant forum for debate and approval thereof.

Honorable parliamentarian focused on the importance of education ensuring equal opportunities for women in accessing quality education and empowering them to take on leadership roles in various sectors. She shared her insights and experiences as a lawmaker committed to advancing policies that promote gender equality and women's empowerment.

Her visit reaffirms the importance of collaboration between policymakers and educational institutions in advancing the cause of women's empowerment and building a more inclusive society.
