| A program titled
“Faculty Development Program” was initiated
in year 2005 to strengthen the faculties of public
sector degree awarding institutions (DAIs) of Pakistan
so that the institution are equipped with faculties
holding maximum number of terminal degrees like Ph.D.
from the institution of world repute in technologically
advance countries.
University of Engineering & Technology
(UET) Taxila has already launched Phase-I under which
a number of candidates have proceeded abroad for Ph.D.
studies in technologically advanced countries.
Now Phase-II needs to be launched
under which the Ph.D. scholarships will be given in
the following disciplines.
- Civil Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Electrical
Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Software Engineering
- Telecommunication
Engineering
The selection of candidates is through
open competition with a NTS (Local GRE) test conducted
by HEC, in which existing faculty and other candidates
equally compete for the scholarships. Those candidates,
who pass the NTS test and fulfill the eligibility
criteria of University of Engineering & Technology
(UET) Taxila, will be interviewed and selected by
Selection Board. Final selection will be based on
GRE result, academic record and interview. Preference
will be given to those who have already completed
their Masters degree.
