Design Build Fly Competition V

GIKI hosted DBFC-V on 9,10 April 2010. The winners of competition were team EPSA univeristy of engineering and technology taxila.

AIAA GIKI Chapter and GIK Institute through the STEM Careers Programme and HEC invited undergraduate students to participate in the 5th National Design, Build & Fly Competition.

The competition provided a real world aircraft design experience for engineering students by giving them the opportunity to validate their analytic studies. Student teams designed, fabricated, and demonstrated the flight capabilities of an unmanned electric/engine powered, radio controlled aircraft that can best meet the specified mission profile. The goal was to make a balanced design that possesses good flight handling qualities and must be practical and affordable.

There were total 11 aircrafts: 3 in category of Electric powered and 8 in category of Engine powered.

The only team to complete all missions in specified time was team EPSA.
The winning team EPSA team leader said We are thankful to Allah almighty. The team EPSA was the only team to complete all the missions. I am very thankful to all my team members who worked hard day and night t0 make it possible. He explained the term EPSA. He said EPSA stands for environment protection society Aeroplane.
